Position Overview
CatSci is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Marketing and Demand Generation to lead and execute a targeted marketing strategy, with a primary tactical focus on driving lead generation and demand capture in the short term. This role demands a strategic thinker with a creative edge and a deep understanding of brand positioning, content creation, and data-driven marketing to fuel CatSci’s growth and market presence.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Responsibilities
- Marketing Strategy Development: Working with VCMO and CatSci’s directors, craft and implement a comprehensive, multi-channel marketing strategy aligned with CatSci’s growth objectives and revenue goals.
- Brand Development & Positioning: Working with CCO and evolve CatSci’s brand identity, voice, and positioning, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
- Goal Alignment & KPIs: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the impact of marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with BDMs and technical teams to ensure strategic alignment and consistent messaging across customer interactions.
Tactical Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation and Demand Capture
- 'ATTRACT' Marketing Flywheel: Design and execute the ‘ATTRACT’ process as a lead-generation system aimed at maximising awareness and driving marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) within target markets.
- Content Creation: Develop high-impact, insight-driven content, including blogs, case studies, and digital tools, to also ‘engage’ target audiences and to assist in progressing SQLs
- Innovative Content Tools: Leverage AI-based tools (e.g., text-to-video, text-to-image) to create visually compelling content that maximises engagement.
2. Digital Marketing Optimisation
- SEO and Digital Presence: Implement SEO best practices and digital strategies to enhance CatSci’s visibility and reach on key platforms.
- Data-Driven Testing: Continuously test digital marketing tactics to optimise impression-to-conversion paths, focusing on moving MQLs to SQLs for the Business Development team.
- Resource Allocation: Apply the ‘rule of 5’ approach, allocating five times the promotional resources to each content investment to ensure maximum reach and impact.
3. Campaign Execution and Management
- Inbound & Outbound Campaigns: Oversee inbound and outbound marketing campaigns, using data insights to evaluate effectiveness and refine strategies.
- Performance Optimisation: Use campaign data to enhance conversion rates and align strategies with competitive benchmarks.
- Continuous Innovation: Stay updated with industry trends, driving the evolution of outbound marketing tactics to maintain a relevant and competitive brand presence.
4. Performance Metrics and Analytics
- Data-Driven Adjustments: Leverage analytics to inform marketing decisions, refining campaigns for improved ROI and effectiveness.
- Collaborative Target Setting: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure marketing goals are measurable and aligned with company objectives.
5. Team Leadership and Management of Vendors
- Build and Develop Team: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team, providing guidance and career development opportunities. Work effectively within budget and managing external vendors and partners
- Culture of Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment that promotes alignment between marketing, sales, and customer-facing departments to achieve shared goals.

- A relevant degree.
- Extensive Marketing Experience:
Proven in strategic digital marketing, including demonstrated success in lead generation, content development, and data-driven decision-making.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise with digital marketing tools and platforms, such as CMS, SEO, marketing automation software, and analytics.
- Sector Insight: Experience in marketing across diverse industries, with a distinct advantage for familiarity in the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
